Peak Lap Performance

Developing the driver. Supporting the person.

Specialist driver coaching, mentoring, preparation and development from Danny Watts, supporting racing drivers on and away from the circuit.

Performance is about more than lap time

Peak Lap Performance takes a whole-driver approach to development. Driving technique, racecraft, data, video, simulation and preparation all matter. So do confidence, mindset, communication, pressure and wellbeing.

We look at the complete picture, find out what is actually holding a driver back, and build the support around that individual. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Experience you can trust

Over 30 years in motorsport, coaching drivers since 2002, with recognised Motorsport UK qualifications and a BSc (Honours) in Psychology with Counselling.

  • The whole driver

Technique and data on one side, confidence and wellbeing on the other. We bring them together, because performance and wellbeing should work with each other, not against each other.

  • Every driver is an individual

We take time to understand your goals, experience and circumstances, then adapt the coaching to you. The aim is to help you become more self-aware, confident and self-sufficient.

The person behind the performance

Meet Danny Watts

I have spent more than three decades in motorsport, first as a racing driver and, since 2002, as a racing driver coach and mentor. My approach has grown from corner watching and finding lap time into something far more complete: developing the driver behind the wheel and supporting the person behind the helmet.

I am a Motorsport UK ARDS Grade A Instructor, a Motorsport UK Level 2 Certified Coach, Enhanced DBS checked and a qualified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England).

Danny coached me as I transitioned from GTs into single-seaters, teaching me at a very high level on how to extract the most from the car and using all the downforce available. He is an amazing coach and made that season one of the most enjoyable years I've had in racing so far.
